History

The CapitalCare Foundation was incorporated in 1989 to support the goals and needs of CapitalCare through private philanthropy giving by expanding our circle of leaders, donors, volunteers and friends.  All projects the Foundation supports represent the needs of CapitalCare.

The Foundation is committed to providing funds for:

  • Resident Programs such as spiritual care, recreation, pets, gardening and music care
  • Equipment such as specialized lifts and therapeutic tubs
  • Centre enhancements including decor and minor renovations
  • Research and staff education
  • Capital Projects - past projects include McConnell Place West and North for Alzheimer’s care, Kipnes Centre for Veterans, and the Cooking Up Quality of Life dining room renovations campaign

Funds raised enhance the quality of life for current and future residents and clients, giving them greater dignity and independence. The CapitalCare Foundation Board, Foundation staff and CapitalCare administration work in collaboration with many community partners to support these goals.

The goals and areas we support have not changed over the years, but the need for additional financial resources continues to increase with each passing year. Community support is crucial to seeing that these projects become a reality, improving the lives of people who are cared for in CapitalCare centres.
