At CapitalCare Foundation, we are fortunate to have a board comprised of exceptional individuals who bring a wealth of experience, expertise, and compassion to our cause. Their unwavering commitment to supporting and enhancing the lives of seniors is truly commendable. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each member for their invaluable contributions.

Caroline Clark, Chair

I have been a member of the Capital Care Foundation Board for the last four years, with the last two as Chair. My career of over forty years has been in healthcare where I have worked in clinical, planning and operational roles. I have worked in acute care and community settings. My last decade of work was spent overseeing Long Term Care, Palliative Care and Home Care and this is where I developed a passion for caring for vulnerable seniors. My membership on the Foundation Board allows me to participate in fundraising that supports the care and well-being of seniors in our Capital Care facilities and the staff that care for them. My personal time is spent with my two daughters’ families, my six grandchildren, friends and caring for my Mother who is 95. I love quilting, golf, art, my Crossfit gym and of course, our Foundation.

Robin Nicol, Vice Chair

Dr. Nicol is a retired pharmaceutical industry executive with more than 36 years’ experience working in the UK, Canada and the USA.  His work experience included research and chemical development and manufacturing operations with groups spanning three continents.  In addition to supporting the valuable work that the CapitalCare Foundation does enriching the lives of seniors, Robin has been learning to play tai chi for more than 20 years.  He has been a volunteer instructor and leader with FLK for more than 15 years, sharing the Taoist Tai Chi® arts that Master Moy Lin Shin taught.  Robin and his wife Mel are long-time residents of Strathcona County who enjoy spending time sampling wines and ciders in the Okanagan.  He is currently working on stand-up paddleboarding.

Khushboo Goyal, Director

Michele Perret, Director

Michele has two economic degrees, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts from Queen’s University in Kingston. Her university training was just the start of her educational journey. Michele began her career in the automotive sector working at General Motors in Finance and Marketing areas. She then was able to transfer those skills into the regulatory world of the oil and gas sector at Enbridge Pipelines. She now is the Engagement Lead at Stantec working in various sectors including affordable housing, oil and gas, mining, pipelines, water treatment facilities, and other. For Michele, her career has been an education as well as an occupation. Michele has over 30 years of experience leading community engagement and communication. Michele has been responsible for the development and execution of engagement and consultation strategies, plans, processes, evaluation tools and frameworks on large, high profile projects as well as smaller community focused projects. She has a track record of generating creative, strategic and effective solutions in challenging environments. Why CapitalCare? My connection with the Capital Care Foundation goes back to the time when we were searching for a place for my father who needed continuing care. We were delighted when he became a resident at the Kipnes Centre for Veterans. It was his home for eleven years. I was honored to be asked to join the Capital Care Foundation Board, as a way to express our family’s gratitude for the excellent care my father received. My previous board experience had been on the opposite end of the age spectrum, as vice-president with a large organization running residential and community homes for youth. My working career has been centered around youth: as an educator, curriculum and textbook writer and continues as a university supervisor for student teachers. My husband and I have four children, eight grandchildren, and a happily growing number of greats! They are our delight and provide us many travel opportunities both here in Canada and in Europe.

Ariana Whitlow, Director

Ariana Whitlow is a singer, entertainment manager, and proud daughter of Norwood namesake, Gene Zwozdesky. To continue her father’s legacy of dedicated public service as a member of the Capital Care Foundation Board is one of her greatest pleasures. Offstage, Ariana is a proud wife to a City of Edmonton firefighter and mother to three amazing children who bring joy and inspiration to her life. Family reigns supreme in her life, and she treasures each moment shared with them, crafting memories overflowing with happiness, love, and endless enchantment!
